Bella's Bermuda Journey

🌿 Rooted in Bermuda

Bella’s story in Bermuda began more than 40 years ago, when she arrived on the island at just 19 years old. Over the decades, Bermuda became more than a place — it became home. She married her Bermudian husband, birthed their four children, and built deep, lasting connections through her work and community involvement.

The island holds profound personal meaning for Bella. It’s where she built her life, experienced love and loss, (Losing her husband on Bermuda roads in 2023) and where the legacy she began continues through her children and grandchildren.

In the early 1990s, Bermuda was a different place — calm, close-knit, and safe. Police officers didn’t carry weapons, homes were left unlocked, and neighbors looked out for one another. If there was ever a perfect place, it was Bermuda.

Over the decades, Bella has witnessed the island’s transformation. The rise in violence and crime deeply affects her — not as an outsider, but as a mother, widow, and community member whose life is woven into Bermuda’s fabric.

“Bermuda is part of my soul,” Bella shares. “This is where I raised my babies. This is where I became a woman. It breaks my heart to see what’s happening now — and I want to be part of the solution. That starts with our children — all children — from the youngest up.”

Bella witnessed firsthand how her Bermudian daughter, Serenity, thrived as a self-taught artist, using creativity to find her voice, build confidence, and transform her life. Inspired by Serenity’s journey, Bella believes that art and creativity are powerful tools for change.

Through creative expression and holistic programs, she envisions giving Bermudian children the emotional tools they need to heal, grow, and make positive choices.we can help our babies develop confidence, self-awareness, and resilience — so they can become thoughtful, empowered members of our community.

“These babies are our future,” Bella says. “They are Bermuda’s future. If we reach them now, we can help shape a generation that makes better decisions, chooses love over violence, and carries this island forward.”

Her vision is not to “pop in and out” with a program but to come home — to build something lasting that will thrive for generations.

“I want Serenity Peace of Mind Art School Bermuda to become a household name — a lasting part of the island’s story,” she says. “We’re not going anywhere. We’re here for the long run. We want to grow with our community and be part of the solution, not the problem. ”This deep personal connection — paired with a mission to use art as a healing and transformative force — fuels Serenity Peace of Mind Art School Bermuda. It’s not just a program — it’s a homecoming, a legacy, and a commitment to Bermuda’s next generation.
